Gordon Parks....A Master Creative

I have been given a new assignment in Perceptual Design class. The task is to find a creative influence, for the creation of a photograph, that tells a story from my eyes, with their influence.  My choice?...Gordon Parks. His work has changed me.  I am proud to have him as a mentor. Please check out the YouTube embed. Once seen, you can't help but fall in love with the poet, novalist, photographer, musician, film maker and master creative....Gordon Parks.

We are starting with some new concepts in Photoshop. It is fun drawing on a digital canvas. There are so many options for brushes and colors. I am in heaven.  I drew this elephant for my first, in class project.

Here is my rendition of the Ezekiel prophetic cherubim of the last days. This warrior has four heads, the head of a man, falcon, ox and lion.

Introducing, Mami Wata (Mother Water).  She is an African water spirit who had been brought to many locations throughout the world as a result of the  African Slave Trade. She is a man made idol who mirrors the seductive characteristics of water. Many are attracted to her ability to adapt and find success in any situation. Mami Watas' body is composed of a woman who has a serpent or fish tail. Snakes are usually seen caressing her as a sign of loyalty and protection.
